LaneMinder3 is an infra-red lane intrusion detection and warning system designed specifically for the tenpin bowling lane area.
Putting safety first the LaneMinder3 detects movement on the lanes and alerts staff to the breach using loud buzzers and high intensity LED flashing lights. Despite clear messaging customers can be found walking down the lanes to try to clear a ball stopped on the lane or in the gutter or even in the pinsetter machine. Distracted adults can be unaware of the dangers facing small children who's inquisitive nature takes them wandering off down the lane. However, the LaneMinder3 provides that additional and essential alert to such behaviour.
The kit contains a beam transmitter and a beam receiver which are placed, around 46cm above the lane surface, on either side wall. This positioning means the LaneMinder3 should detect anyone trying to walk down the lane, including small children. One LaneMinder3 can cover a whole lane zone (up to 40 lanes in a row). Should your venue have lanes in different zones, then you'll need one machine per zone. For larger venues (exceeding 40 lanes) a higher power version can be purchased - let our Sales Team know if this is what is required.
They system includes features which allow for the beam to be temporarily disabled by staff to enable them to safely proceed down the lane when required. Specific coloured LEDs flash to alert the staff member when less than 30 seconds of time-out remains. A 2 channel keyfob allows for the Reset and Getpin/LaneMaintenance functions to be controlled remotely.
The LaneMinder3 requires very little maintenance - simply replace the replace the battery in the remote control when required.
To enable ease of use the coloured LEDs signify specific issues or commands e.g.
- Red on at 30% - READY
- Pink flashing - BLOCKED - beam is blocked or misaligned
- Red flashing - ALARM - beam has been broken (indicates a person has walked past the sensor)
- Green flashing - STAFF - GETPIN - beam is suspended for 2 minutes to allow staff to deal with escaped pin / LANEMAINT gives 120 minutes for staff to deal with lane maintenance (time is easily adjusted on the menu) / AISLE gives 60 seconds to allow staff member to walk down the aisle.
- Amber flashing - COUNT DOWN - staff member has 30 seconds left to end of count down
- Blue flashing - RESET - all modes cancelled for 1 second and returns machine to Ready status.
Upgrading from LaneMinder2
If you already have the LaneMinder2 installed and are considering upgrading to LaneMinder3, the additional features are:
- Multi-coloured high LED arrays to clearly indicate the current state
- The control box has a 2 line LCD display to indicate current state and show menu options
- Aisle, GetPin and LaneMaint timers are now adjustable via a menu
- A jumper in the Control Box allows the centre to select whether the two functions of the remote control are GetPin and Reset, or LaneMaint and Reset.
- 24Vdc operation allows for better reliability over very long cable runs for large venues
Enhance the system with a Remote Alarm module. This can placed anywhere else in the venue e.g. at the reception desk or technicians office to sound and alert when the LaneMinder 3 is triggered.
